Striped seabream Fishing

The white sand belt at Marsa Matruh is ideal for this species: it patrols the 1-3 m gutters just beyond the wave line, digging for sand worms. Use a fine 0.18-0.22 mm snood with a small size 6-8 hook and a single lugworm; after casting, pull the lead 20-30 cm and wait. Early morning and the afternoon when wind stirs the sand are the best windows. They travel in loose groups, so recast to the same spot after a fish.
