Indo-Pacific sailfish Fishing

It occurs in the Red Sea but is uncommon compared with the Indian Ocean; in Egypt it shows in the deep blue water off Marsa Alam and Sharm in late summer and autumn. A fresh ballyhoo or small baitfish run at 6-9 knots behind a teaser is the best presentation. Do not strike on the take; give three to five seconds of free line so the fish can turn the bait. Drop-off rates are high, so use circle hooks and release the fish in the water.
